OPLAN BAKLAS PLAKA and Its Impact on Illegal License Plate Installations

Updated: Feb 15, 2023

We had joined the OPLAN BAKLAS PLAKA conducted by personnel of BCPO-TEU to provide penalties to erring individuals for violating traffic laws and ordinances of the city of Baguio. The city government relies on police personnel in the maintenance of traffic discipline through the creation of special and separate police units to carry out traffic investigation and enforcement duties such as traffic patrol, traffic safety enforcement, and road safety inspection.

Illegally-installed license plates are a big problem in Baguio City, as they can be used by criminals to evade law enforcement. They are also a threat to the safety of other drivers on the road, as the authorities cannot track down the owner of the vehicle in case of an accident or any other incidents. During the OPLAN BAKLAS PLAKA operation, the BCPO-TEU personnel conducted a thorough inspection of all vehicles in the city, and those with illegally-installed license plates were promptly removed. The operation was conducted smoothly and efficiently, with minimal disruption to the city’s traffic flow.[1]

The operation was well-received by the residents of Baguio City, who appreciated the efforts of the BCPO-TEU in ensuring the safety of the city’s roads. The operation also served as a warning to those who use illegally-installed license plates, and the message was clear that such activities would not be tolerated.

The BCPO-TEU plans to continue conducting similar operations in the future, to maintain the safety and security of the city’s roads. The public is urged to cooperate with law enforcement authorities and to report any suspicious or illegal activities, including the use of illegally-installed license plates. Together, we can make Baguio City a safer place for everyone.[2]

In conclusion, OPLAN BAKLAS PLAKA was a successful operation that aimed at ensuring the safety of Baguio City’s residents and cracking down on illegal activities. It was conducted smoothly and efficiently by the BCPO-TEU personnel and was well-received by the city’s residents. The operation serves as a reminder that the authorities are vigilant in their efforts to keep the city safe, and that those who engage in illegal activities will face the consequences of their actions.
